About Waltman Associates
Principal:
Inez Bergquist, president of Waltman Associates, is an expert in the area of nonprofit management, major gifts, planned giving, capital campaign management and prospect research, and has developed several online services for nonprofit professionals, including The Donor Series, now DonorSearch.net.
She is also the author of several volumes on families of wealth, including the Book of Minnesota Family Trees and Book of American Family Trees, and has taught at St. Mary's University's Philanthropy Program, the Fundraising School, Metro State University, and presented at many professional meetings such as AFP, NPGC, APRA, and AHP.
She served on the staff of the University of Minnesota Foundation and Minnesota Orchestral Association before beginning a consulting career, and holds advanced degrees from Augsburg College and the University of Minnesota. While at the University of Minnesota Foundation she started the association which today is the international research organization, APRA.
Currently President of the Friends of the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, she is also a Board Member and Advancement Committee Chair of the Greater Minneapolis Council of Churches, representing the Episcopal Diocese of Minnesota; board member and Development Committee Chair of The St. Paul Parks Conservancy, and Planned Giving Chair of St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral.
She has previously served as senior warden and capital campaign chair of St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral, Chair of the Wells Memorial Foundation, Chair of Friends of the University of Minnesota Libraries, The Singers, Minnesota Choral Artists, CampDuNord of the YMCA of the Twin Cities, vice chair of the Eagan Foundation, board chair of APRA, the national prospect research organization; and served on the board of Caponi Art Park and development committee of the Minnesota Women's Foundation. She was also on the alumni board of Augsburg College and Capital Campaign Cabinet of Bethany Lutheran College.
Inez has chaired many special events, including the grand opening of the Andersen Library at the University of Minnesota, Dickens Dinner of St. Mark's Cathedral, Lilypad Party of St. Paul Parks Conservancy, and Passport to Smiles Gala of Children's Surgery International.

Elaine Weber Nelson has worked with nonprofits for more than 20 years and has taught in the marketing department at the University of Minnesota for 14 years. She has guided organizations to successful completion of capital campaigns, initiated planned giving programs, written successful grants, helped strengthen annual fund efforts, and offered guidance to create stronger marketing efforts.
